Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, as part of its mission to foster relationships with developing countries, has developed a special program for students from the African continent. This program will enable students to study for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs taught in English at UCSC’s Milan, Piacenza and Cremona campuses.

The Cattolica Africa Scholarship program consists of twelve 2-year MSc programs (Laurea Magistrale), all taught in English. These programs are preparing for an academic and/or professional career. Graduates of MSc programs are also eligible to enter PhD programs at Italian universities.

  8. Statistical and actuarial sciences – Data Analytics for Business and Economics (Milan Campus)
  9. Agricultural and Food Economics (Cremona Campus)

Eligibility Criteria

Students, either citizens or residents, of all African countries may apply for the Cattolica Africa Scholarship, which is applicable only for the degree programs taught in English.

Admission requirements for all Master Degree programs include:

  • Completion of at least a Bachelor Degree from a recognized university (2nd class upper division / 2.1 degree or higher)
  • English Language Test score: IELTS 6.0 (Academic) or TOEFL IBT 80 if English is not your first language.or successful completion of a degree program taught in the English language.
  • An application fee of 75€ is due in order to submit the candidacy.

How to Apply

  1. Download the application guidelines and read them carefully. Make sure you follow the instructions provided in order to properly submit your application.
  2. Select the degree program of your choice. You may select up to two programs. Your application will be considered for your first choice only. In case of your application being unsuccessful, will we automatically consider you for the second choice.
  3. Create your account, fill out the online form and upload the required documents (listed in the guidelines)
  4. Pay the application fee (75€, non-refundable) and submit your application. We will start processing your application after the payment of the application fee has been received: check that the status of the application in your Self Service Center is “Applied and paid”. Description:

University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships is an Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties); it is awarded for one year and extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s program (three or four semesters) provided the applicant is academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.

The Faculty of science of the University of Geneva is an internationally top-ranked scientific institution covering a broad range of scientific disciplines: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physics.

Duration of University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship: one year. The scholarship can beextended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s programme (three or four semesters) provided the applicant is academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.

Value of University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship:  CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties)

 

Eligibility:

  • Application for an University of Geneva Excellence Fellowship is open to students from any university with very good performance in their studies (belonging to the best 10% of their bachelor’s program) and that have completed the Bachelor degree or expect to complete it within 6 months.
  • Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence.
  • Evaluation will be made on the basis of the documentation sent by the applicants.
  • French proficiency is not a formal requirement for the Masters of the Faculty of science.

 

Documents Required for University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship:

The application (in English or French) must include the following documents in the form of a SINGLE pdf file:

  • A scan of your national identity card or passport.
  • A scan of your UNIGE card or if you are not yet a UNIGE student, the mail of the central administration named “Votre candidature à l’UNIGE” (proof you have started the matriculation process) is requested

Note:

The application (in English or French) must include the following documents in the form of a SINGLE pdf file:

  • A Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum).
  • A scan of your national identity card or passport.
  • The transcript of exams passed during the bachelor education, with all grades.
  • A motivation letter in which you describe your specific scientific interests and your motivation to pursue a Master of Science program at the University of Geneva.
  • If possible: Letters of references from two professors (preferably sent by them directly to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch) attesting your aptitude to this program.
  • Any other pertinent information like results of GRE (General requirement examination), of TOEFL or other language test.

The application is made online. After registering, you will receive an e-mail containing a personal link allowing you to fill out the application form.
